PUCC Adventurers Go to the Sappington House

Event Date: 11/09/2023

Join the PUCC Adventurers on Thursday, November 9th as they visit the Thomas Sappington House Museum on 1015 S. Sappington Road in Crestwood. To carpool, meet at PUCC by 10:30 or at the Sappington House (1015 S. Sappington Road) by 11:00 a.m. The tour begins at 11:00. Admission for the tour is $5 per adult. Lunch will be at the restaurant on site, following the tour. Please RSVP to Peggy Sieber by November 7th, pmsieber@gmail.com or (314) 457-1975.

The Sappington House is tucked away on 2.5 acres with lush grounds and a small pond. The Federal style house is on the National Registry of Historic Places, built in 1808 and believed to be the first brick house in St. Louis County. The historic structure still stands on its original site and is surrounded by flower and herb beds just as it was 200 years ago. Meticulously restored and elegantly refurbished with antiques from prior to 1835, the museum gives a glimpse into how some lived in the wilderness in the area now known as Crestwood. https://historicsappingtonhouse.org/museumlibrary/
