Amazon is an American multinational technology company which focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. It has been referred to as “one of the most influential economic and cultural forces in the world.” The company was founded by Jeff Bezos from his garage in 1994, initially as an online marketplace for books. It is the now the world’s largest online retailer.

Our speaker, Pat Wilkins, is on the front lines of Amazon’s distribution network in the St. Louis area and in his capacity as Sr. Operations Manager is in charge of 1000 employees at Amazon’s facility in Berkeley. His insights into the culture of Amazon and its commitment to the economic welfare of the community promises to be eye-opening, and instructive.
