Visiting Parkway UCC--an Inclusive Faith Family

Welcome!

We want you to make yourself at home. Our gathering space is like our "living room." Get yourself situated, meet members of our congregation--then head to the sanctuary to find a place to enjoy worship. If you have any questions, a greeter at the door will be happy to help.

What to Wear

We don't have a dress code. You'll see our congregation in casual to business attire, so wear what makes you the most comfortable.

Worship

We worship on Sundays at 10 am. Find yourself a comfortable seat anywhere in the sanctuary. Our service starts with music. A children's message is shared early in the service; then children and teens have the option to attend Sunday School or stay in worship with their parents. God's Communion table is open to all who wish to know the presence of Christ through Holy Communion--all accepted, no exceptions. Worship generally lasts about an hour. After the service, we invite you to join us for coffee and sweets in the gathering area.

Accessibility

Parkway has accommodations to make it easy for all individuals and caregivers to worship with us. If  you need assistance, just let us know. We will help with whatever you might need. We have handicapped accessible rest room facilities and offer hearing assistive devices for use during worship.

Opportunities for Families and Children

Parkway is a place for the whole family. Children are always welcome at worship, and they are offered quiet activities to pursue if they want to stay with their parents. Nursery care is offered for children through fifth grade for an hour before and an hour after services, and nursery care is provided for infants through age 3 during worship. Sunday School classes for those age 3 through high school are offered after the children's message, which occurs early in the service.

Becoming a Member

Membership at Parkway UCC offers a step to building your relationship with God.

Church members are encouraged to grow personally, find a sense of belonging, form lifelong friendships, experience the joy of Christ, discover new spiritual gifts, become closer to God, develop a personal prayer style, and follow Jesus. The United Church of Christ leaves decision making authority to individual churches rather than mandating policy from above. As a church member, you can vote on topics such as the annual budget, church vision, building decisions, and policies and priorities for the life and work of Parkway UCC.

New Member Sundays
Our church family is constantly changing. People come and go. Babies are born. Children grow up. People commit themselves to one another. Loved ones and friends among us come to the end of their lives. Individuals move into our community and church life. Others leave us, moving away to new places, new experiences, new opportunities. It is with joy and gratitude that we plan to welcome new members into our worship, work and witness at Parkway UCC on Membership Sundays during our 10am worship service. This can happen in person or virtually.

“My wife and I joined Parkway because we felt it was a good fit for ourselves as well as for our kids. For us, which was critically important, Parkway encourages you to have an individual relationship with God, and no one’s telling you how to have that relationship. We believe that all of us are individualized expressions of God, That doesn’t mean that we’re perfect like God--it means that we’re all trying. Every day we have an opportunity to do better and to learn from what happened the day before.”
