Lunch Prep for Tornado Victims

Parkway Cooks Swing into Action!

As you may remember, after the May 2025 Tornado, many St. Louis residents in North St. Louis were made homeless. A group called 314 Oasis was formed through grants to help citizens with home repair advice, housing, and food.

A group of Parkway UCC members volunteered to assist with some lunches for forty clients this fall. Including Linda Tossing, Kris McKenzie, Deborah Reinhardt, Diane Brost, Harold Cobb and myself. Our first day to provide a meal is October 9. We will gather at 9:30am in the Parkway kitchen to assemble some hearty sandwiches, sides, fruit, and, of course, brownies from our own Sweet Bakers.

Please feel free to join us in the assembly line of making sandwiches, slicing tomatoes, and putting lunches together in brown paper bags. A group will head down to their offices on Delmar to help serve around 10:50am. If you wish to help, we will need a case of bottled water, 40 bananas, 40 apples, 48 case assortment of chips. If you can assist with any of these donations, please contact Carol Cobb ccjcobb@aol.com. We have some donations from Parkway members, but appreciate additional help. Other lunch prep days include Nov 13 and possibly Dec 11.
