TAD’s Next Book: Horse, by Geraldine Brooks

Event Date: 03/05/2024

Starts March 5

Please join us with Tuesday Afternoon Dialogue as we read and discuss Horse by Geraldine Brooks. Join us for fellowship at 1:45, and book discussion from 2 – 3. We’ll discuss the book in thirds, on March 5th, 19th, and April 2nd. From Amazon -“A discarded painting in a junk pile, a skeleton in an attic, and the greatest racehorse in American history. From these strands, Pulitzer Prize winning author Geraldine Brooks braids a sweeping story of spirit, obsession, and injustice.” The book begins before the Civil War with the record-breaking thoroughbred Lexington and his enslaved groom, and ends in our current time period. Most of the details regarding Lexington’s racing career are true. Horse is a novel of art and science, love and obsession, and our unfinished reckoning with racism. https://www.amazon.com/Horse-Novel-Geraldine-Brooks/dp/0399562974/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1G319BOIHBFPD&keywords=horse&qid=1707512214&sprefix=horse%2Caps%2C113&sr=8-5
