6/25 – Behind the Scenes at Justice

The Justice Department, is tasked with the enforcement of federal law and the administration of justice in the United States. The department comprises various federal law enforcement agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The department also includes the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices for each of the 94 U.S. federal judicial districts.

Our speaker, Jeff Demerath started as a DOJ attorney in DC and then returned home to St. Louis as a private practice attorney representing clients in cases against Justice, including criminal cases.
