World Communion Worship in Historic Sanctuary 9/30

Special Worship Service in the Historic Sanctuary & Fellowship EventSaturday September 30, 2017

5:00pm Worship Service Historic Sanctuary

5:30 to 7:00pm Potluck (pizza, salads and dessert)

7:00 to 9:00pm Board games

You are welcome to attend all of or any portion of the event.

This event will include a short worship service that includes scripture, music, prayer, message, and communion from 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm held in the Historic Sanctuary, followed by light meal consisting of salad/dessert and ordered pizza potluck in the Gathering Space. We will conclude with our fellowship time with board games. You are welcome and invited to participate in all or any portion of this Church event. So if you only have time for the service, attend that portion. If you have time for only the meal and/or fellowship, feel free to join just that portion of the event.

The theme of this worship service with be built around Psalm 25 about trust. The scripture will focus on that Psalm using different translations. You will learn a little about when the Psalm was written and its meaning. We will sing hymns based on this Psalm and others hymns related to this theme. A guest organist will provide the music. As we did in the last special service we will light candles together as we begin our worship together. Please bring a candle/votive that individuals/family will light together and leave on the altar for the remainder of the worship service. At the conclusion of the service, you will take a different candle home with you as a memory of the event. Our goal is to provide a unique, spiritual, uplifting and memorable worship experience among the walls of our Historic Sanctuary followed by the warmth of friendship and fellowship.

If you plan on attending, please bring a salad or dessert to share and a candle/votive for the service. (We will have extra candles in the event you forget to bring one to the service.) We will order pizza based on the number of attendees planning on staying for the potluck. The pizzas will be ordered so they are delivered at the end of the worship service. Membership Care will be providing the pizzas. This event is co-sponsored by the Worship and Membership Care Commissions.
