Just then, a woman who had suffered from bleeding for 12 years approached from behind and touched the tassel on His robe. – Matthew 9:20

[This is an echo from last Sunday’s worship when we focused on hands — and being present to Lent with our whole selves as we make this journey from lovers to fools.]

Look at your hands….
Look at the lines, veins, scars, freckles, age spots… look at back of your hands, palms, fingers, thumb…

What would Jesus say about these things below?
Which of these things would Jesus actually say and/or do?
Praying hands
Try your hands
Tip your hands
Show your hands
Throw up your hands
Close at hand
Bite the hand that feeds you
Right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing
On one hand … on the other hand
Many hands make light work
The devil makes work for idle hands
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush
Ace in the hand
Talk to the hand
Sit on your hands
Wash your hands of it
Putty in your hands
Hand to the plow
Out of my hands
Taking matters into your own hands
Lift a hand
Know it like the palm of your hand
Join hands
Hold hands in a circle
Hands off
Caught with your hand in the cookie jar
All hands on deck
Slight of hand
In the hollow of your hand
“I’ve only got two hands.”
In safe hands
Heavy handed
In the wrong hands
Get your hands dirty
Force your hand
Firm hand
Steady hand
Second hand
Upper hand
Free hand
With one hand tied behind your back
Slipping through your hands
Hand out
Hand up

Prayer: Holy One, we have so much power. Help us to use it wisely and faithfully. Amen.
