Open and Affirming Celebration

On April 27, 2008 Parkway United Church of Christ joined nine other UCC churches in the area to become Open and Affirming. As that yearlong process came to an end, the committee published an A.A. Milne quote from Winnie the Pooh book.

“Have we reached the end?”

“Yes, I suppose it seems so… and yet,”

“Yes, Piglet?”

“It is also the beginning.”

Let’s now keep the faith and continue the conversation for human justice with our 10th anniversary of that vote which coincides with the 180th Anniversary of our church. The Team for 180th Anniversary of Parkway UCC and 10th anniversary for ONA consists of Greg Schmelig, Gale Haggard, Polly Winkelmann, Barb Eggebrecht, Kevin Cameron, Harold and Carol Cobb.
