Autism, a Disorder of Many Stripes, Hues, and Challeng by Professor Susan Maloney, PhD
Sun, Nov 9 | 11:15am | Heritage Room
Prof. Maloney is the Director of the Animal Behavior Unit and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the School of Medicine at Washington University. Her research focuses on the impact of genetic and environmental liabilities for intellectual and developmental disorders IDDS. IDDs are differences that are present at birth and affect the trajectory of the individual’s physical, intellectual, and/or emotional development, which include autism spectrum disorders (ASD).
Prof. Maloney’s work supports and conducts research on what causes autism, how to detect signs of autism and treat autism. In her role as Director of Animal Behavior, she heads the team that provides rodent model behavioral characterization and analysis to IDD Investigators. She will likely have some views on the Tylenol controversy and its alleged linkage with autism, as well.
All programs start after worship service at approximately 11:15am in the Heritage Room. For questions, kindly contact Richard Scherrer at 90fivetpr@gmail.com
