Parkway United Church of Christ (PUCC) is a safe space for all – including those who are marginalized in our society. We proclaim this in our Congregational Statement:
Parkway United Church of Christ, with God’s grace, seeks to be a congregation that includes all persons, regardless of race, ethnic, or socio-economic background while respecting differences of gender, marital status, age, sexual orientation, and mental and physical ability. We aspire to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God. We invite all to share in the life and leadership, ministry, fellowship, worship, sacraments, responsibilities and blessings of participation in our open and affirming congregation.
Let everyone know that we are a church that welcomes the marginalized in our community! This is the place to come just as you are and be who you are. Use the hashtag #puccsafespace in Facebook and Twitter posts. We are a safe space! #puccsafespace
From one of our members:
Dear Parkway United Church of Christ,
First, thank you for literally being a sanctuary where I can reflect on my faith, purpose, and how to live my life in a way that is pleasing to our God.
Secondly, and most importantly, thank you for being a beautiful light of hope following the example of Jesus by demonstrating love, acceptance, and unity with our brothers and sisters in our church community, our neighborhoods, our nation, and our world.
I am proud to be part of this church family.
With love, Peggy Mohl
