Join us for worship this Sunday at 9:30am Traditional or 11:00am Informal. Our scripture texts are 1Kings 21:1-21a; Psalm 5:1-8; Luke 7:36-8:3 with a sermon entitled Repercussions. We will hear two very different Bible stories about actions and results. How we treat one another is critically important. We know what God wants/needs from us – and what we need from others. We will share a poignant litany for Father’s Day as well.

Family Matters Families. We all have them. From the Cleavers to the Tucker-Pritchetts, families are diverse, yet share so much common ground across cultures and history. Do you relate to any of the many TV families? Is your family like the Brady Bunch or the Simpsons? The Beverly Hillbillies or the Bundys? The Bunkers, the Huxtables, the Jetsons, the Conners, the Keatons, the Partridges, the Jeffersons, the Honeymooners, the Urkles, the Addams, the Sopranos, the Waltons? Or any other TV family? We want to know!

Kent Coffel to Appear in 1776 1776 is a delightful musical centered around the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Join us at Friday, June 28 at 8:00 for the Insight Theater Company’s production of 1776. Parkway’s own Kent Coffel is a member of the cast. Groups of 10+ will be $20 per person. Nat coming to settle Nid’s business

As we all know, there is a great deal of spiritual, emotional, physical work to do – and a great deal of paperwork – after a family member dies. You may know firsthand how much more challenging this can be when you are trying to do this work from a distance – in this case from Thailand to St Louis. Nid’s niece Nat – and her mother – are planning a trip here in the fall. They will be here for about three weeks to finish up business. PUCC is looking for a place that they might be able to stay while they are here in October or November – someone with some extra space or someone who will not be in their home for a few weeks. Father Frank Krebs, M.Div, has been serving as Pastor of Sts. Clare & Francis ECC (ecumenical-catholic-communion.org) in St. Louis since 2006. Frank has worked with various anti-bias/pro-reconciliation training organizations in the St. Louis area since 1998, including the National Conference for Community and Justice of St. Louis (formerly the National Conference of Christians and Jews), the Anti-Defamation League, and the Diversity Awareness Partnership.

Frank is a fun-loving and faithful friend of PUCC. You will not be disappointed with your AE experience today.

We look forward to being with you for worship, fellowship and education this Sunday at 9:30am Traditional or 11am Informal services. Our scriptures are Psalm 146; 1 Kings 17:8-24; Luke 7:11-17. The sermon title is Rising Sons. The Gospel lesson echoes the 1Kings reading where sons are healed. We meet the mothers and know that at first they do not see the possibilities of new life. Where do we need a re-set to imagine things differently? How can we trust the holy more?

Annual Congregational Meeting

It will be a day to think about Parkway’s future! In the congregational meeting that follows immediately after worship, we will hear the results of this month’s congregational survey, elect and install our new congregational leaders for Council and commissions, and reaffirm members serving another year. Afterwards, we’ll gather for lunch. The church will provide the main course, and you can bring a side dish, salad or dessert.

ONE FAMLY WORSHIP at 10:00am! Our scripture readings are Psalm 96 and Galatians Galatians 1:1-12 Our sermon is entitled The Real Gospel.

The apostles are holding up a mirror for the faith community at Galatia to see where it is that they are being faithful and where they are veering off the path. Annual Meeting Sunday is a good time for us to look in the mirror as well. Gather at our open table for the sacrament of communion. It’s a Give-A-Meal Sunday, so please remember to bring gifts of non-perishable food items.

Pray with Pastor Kevin in the Prayer Corner of the Sanctuary any time between 9:00-11:00am. Or pray any other time. The Prayer Corner-with a perpetual candle-has a current prayer list, prayer books, journal, kneeler and chairs.

Penico/Seetharaman Mission to India

The Penico and Seetharman family are travelling to the Family Village Farm orphanage in Southern India. (Google it!) They will take suitcases filled with school supplies, 25 and 50 piece puzzles, books and DVDs. Celebrate 175^thJune is a favorite month for weddings, so our 175^th display for June will be featuring wedding photographs. Please bring YOUR wedding photos (whether or not it took place at PUCC); also any wedding pictures of family members for display this Sunday – you’ll be able to take them home with you after the service. [The first wedding performed in our church was on March 17, 1839. Friedrich Orth and Eva Haushatter were married with Rev. Nollau officiating.]
