Isaiah 40:21-31; Psalm 147:1-11, 20c

The Power of Prayer and Poetry

Reminders of what God says to us and does with us… we can carry around these reminders in our hearts and our pockets to share with ourselves and one another. Prepare to receive these blessings for others as well – whether you speak the same language or not.

Transfiguration Sunday

From the Mountain to the Valley Below – and Back Again

2Kings 2:1-12; Matthew 17:1-8

Elisha promises Elijah that he will not leave him.

Peter wants to stay on the mountaintop with Jesus, Moses and Elijah but he has to go back to the people in the valley below of they’ll never know that they can go to sacred places such as this. Light and warmth and spirit and inspiration and revelation!

Lovers to Fools: Making Sense of the Lenten Journey

Imposition of Ashes for those interested to mark our humanity, humility and holiness as we begin our Lenten Journey alone and together.

We will be intentional about using all of our whole selves to be Christ-like in our words, ways and actions this season.

Genesis 9:8-17; Psalm 25:1-10; Mark 1:9-15

From Lovers to Fools with Our Eyes

We see the rainbow after the flood. We see the dove descending as Jesus comes up out of the water at his baptism. We see the wild animals and the angels with Jesus in the wilderness this 40 days. What do you see then and there? Now and here?

We will light our Lenten Candles and hear about our Second Mile Lent Offering.
