Children

We love children! We delight in them even when they aren’t miniature adults behaving perfectly in worship. We are devoted to compassionate, safe and fun care for your child.

During Sunday worship we provide the following:

Pathways of Faith 9:45am-10:45am

Children attend about the first 15 minutes of the 9:30 worship service, participate in the Children's Message, and then move to our Rotation Sunday School – Pathways of Faith.

Grace Place 10:45am-11:00am

A Children's Friendship Time with toys, fun, and good company. Adult supervised, of course! (Held in Fellowship Hall)

Stories and Songs 11:15am-11:45am

Children attend about the first 15 minutes of the 11:00 service, participate in the Children's Message, and then move to Sunday School – Stories and Songs. They come back for the Shalom Circle and final blessing in the sanctuary.

Believing that each child has unique, God-given abilities and that each child learns in different kinds of ways, we employ a rotation model of Sunday School during this time with our children between the Kindergarten and the 5th grade. Believing that practices, symbols, and pictures are important vehicles for forming the faith, we currently use the “We Believe” Curriculum (Presbyterian Church USA) with those who are Preschool age (4 and 5 years old). Our Middle (6th and 7th) and High School (8th- 12th) youth have Sunday School classes during this hour (the Middle High explore and test their beliefs using the “Connect” Curriculum and our High School critically examine and reflect upon their faith using “LinC” Curriculum-both come from Cokesbury).

M.A.D. Camp – VBS with a Twist! Aug 3-7

MAD CAMPIt’s something different, it’s something new, it’s something you’ll be glad you can do. It’s M.A.D. camp! A week of music, art and drama like you’ve never experienced! We will learn the music from the musical, Oh Jonah. We will make scenery, create our costumes and learn the lessons of Jonah in Bubba’s Belly! Each morning we will meet at 9:00am. Each camper will bring a lunch and dismissal will be at 1:00pm. There will be childcare offered until 3:00pm for an additional fee. We plan on shouting out this event to the neighborhood so make plans to be with us and bring friends along!
